1955 Corvette
1955 introduced the first V8 Corvette. You could tell the difference between the V8 and 6 cylinder because on the front grille was the wording "CheVrolet". It should also be noted that the V8 model had a 12 volt electrical system, while the 1955 corvette 6 cylinder had a 6 volt electrical system. V8 models also had a modified frame to allow room for the fuel pump.
A V-8 1955 Corvette could hit 60 mph in 8.7 seconds and go from 0-100 in 24.7 seconds. This year also brought to the table new exterior colors which included - Copper and Harvest Gold.

Option 2: V-8, 265 cid, 195 horsepower @ 4200 rpm.
