Starting in 1962, for the first time since the 1955 Corvette, only solid colors were offered. There were a few other exterior changes including a blacked out grille and ribbed chrome rocker panel molding.

Standard interior features for the 1962 corvette included; electric clock, dual exhaust, tachometer, seat belts, heater and defroster. Exterior standard features included; rearview mirror, and windshield washer. Wheels were available in the following colors; black, red, silver, maroon, or beige. Wheel color choices were not available since the 1957 Corvette.

A 1962 Corvette with a 327 cid engine pumping out 360 horsepower with fuel injection roared to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. Records showed the maximum speed of 150 mph.

The paint is PPG solid red urethane.
